The Genesis of TnT Master
TnT Master was originally imagined as a solution to the problems associated with scoring local T&T meets. Local gyms are often ill-equipped to handle the hardware, networking and software systems required to simultaneously collect, register, and display multiple judges' scores across several concurrent events. Spectators and athletes alike are often disappointed by their inability to immediately track scores and compare performances. Worse still are those times when medals are awarded and soon stripped away again due to scoring mishaps.
As TnT Master began to explore the possibility of replacing local-network-based legacy scoring systems with a new approach using the Internet, other existing problems became evident that could be solved in a similar manner. TnT Master therefore grew to include a centralized meet management system that would allow Meet Directors to promote meets, take team registrations, collect payment, and even prepare flight schedules all in one place, online, quickly and easily.
Providing a streamlined process optimized to run T&T meets smoothly from start to finish, TnT Master was the perfect system to solve the last big problem. As a central repository for the scoring information from each TnT registered meet, the system can provide USAG mandated publication of the scores immediately upon completion of the event. Meet directors no longer need to compile and collate dozens of individual scoresheets into cumbersome packets before distributing them to participating teams. TnT Master automatically compiles, collates, and distributes scores immediately to all interested parties via the Internet.
How It Works
It's simple. TnT Master replaces all of the archaic standalone software packages, expensive display equipment, and esoteric network specialists (or as close as is available at the local gym!) with a single, Internet-based web application available to anyone with an Internet connection. And, best of all, it's essentially free for the sponsoring gym.
TnT Master automates all procedures associated with directing, participaing, and judging T&T meets, including registering teams and collecting registration fees. TnT Master will collect the fees and deposit them directly into an account as specified by the meet director. However, as part of the process TnT Master collects a small surcharge on the cost of each athlete's registration, thereby sharing the cost of the system between all the participants. The sponsoring gyms may even be able to lower the cost of registration since they will no longer need to purchase or rent expensive software and display equipment in order to support the meet.
The Developer
TnT Master is the brainchild of a frustrated Gymnastics Dad. While traveling the state in support of his young daughter's gymnastics career, he witnessed firsthand the frustrating problems that TnT Master is designed to solve. Having over 15 years experience in the world of web applications and internet development, and being partner and technical director in his own development company, he was in an ideal position to create a solution to the problems with which he was becoming so familiar. His frustration, shared with those of others in the gymnastics community, grew into the concept that today is TnT Master.
